That really sucks, I'm sorry. But you're a good (and brave) person; not a lot of people have the guts to stand up to something wrong when they themselves are in danger. Bikes are really commonly stolen. Even if he didn't take it, somebody else would have maybe gone for it. Never leave your bike unattended.
