Today, I was fired. Not only was I fired with no warning, not only was my friend the one who fired me, but I was fired from the unpaid volunteering position I took to help her out. FML

Not to be "that guy", but if you were fired from an unpaid volunteer position, that would usually mean there was something you weren't doing right. No one fires unpaid help if they're doing everything right. Now mind you, I agree with others, use whatever lack of motivation you had for the unpaid position and flip it into motive to be successful at a paid job.

We dont know the full story but maybe your friend no longer needed your help and this was their twisted way of trying to motivate you to find a real paid job. Thinking you might not want to look for a paid job if you still had this one.

If I heard someone talking like this, I would definitely be escorting them off of the premises personally and banning them from working or volunteering at whatever location I worked at. I'm guessing whatever the OP did to get fired, if anything, wasn't nearly as bad as this drivel that my eyes were just inflicted with

Well there's some things to clear up.. Maybe knowing why you were fired? If she is really your friend, maybe ask her? Also I agree, paid jobs are much better usually
