i'm the OP, I just stumbled upon this FML after over 4 years.. I'm pleased to announce that I've moved on from spending $5 on virtual cats to over $300 on virtual anime girl cards. and I have 2 real cats now. don't let your dreams be dreams, guys

Nothing wrong with that in itself. Those kind of games are just a new way of gaming that tie in with social media, and that not everybody respects yet. Really, investing in a game that makes you happy is no less valid than buying a boxed game, downloadable content or paying for a WoW subscription. OP, I say embrace your taste in games and/or keep your bank card safely out of reach - that's what I do ;-)
