Today, I lent my sister $1000 because she and her husband were in some debt. They used the money to go gambling in Vegas and won a major jackpot. They won't even give me a cut. FML

Today, my mother asked me if she could borrow $200. Being the lovely daughter I am, I gave her my bank card to withdraw it herself. She gambled it away and maxed my bank account out. I had $1500 saved. FML

Today, I placed $20 in a slot machine at a casino and in a matter of 5 minutes lost it all. My sister then sat at the same machine, put her $20 in and quadrupled her money. FML

Today, I went to the casino and put $500 into a game and lost it all. I tried another $100 and won it all back, plus some. Instead of walking out ahead, I kept trying to hit bigger and ended up losing all my rent money. Rent is due and now I can’t pay it. FML

Today, I gave my niece a $100 bill instead of a $10 so she could buy ice cream. When I realized my mistake, she never returned it but thanked me and gave me a big hug. Now I don't have money for gas or food all week. FML

If they were in debt, they cant manage money. The money they won won't last long and when its gone, remember this. Dont let people take advantage of you. Go and enjoy the $1000 and treat yourself.

Tell them to pay you back AT LEAST 2000. On your part, $1000 is plenty of money its doubling your investment. on the other hand, if they wont, threaten (confidently, assuredly) that if they wont pay you back the 2K, you will *NEVER* loan them money again even if their starving on the streets

I don't know for sure, but can't you take them to court? First for the $1000 that is rightfully yours and also for them telling you false purposes for the money and then using it. That is a scam right there and is very likely able to be prosecuted. But either way, that sucks!
