Today, at the supermarket, an old lady asked for directions to the produce aisle. Having read way too many stories lately on this very site about awful elderly folks, I was wary, but helped her out. She gave me an awkward hug in thanks, lifting my wallet in the process, as I later found out. FML

That's horrible... Society really is going downhill.

That's why you keep everything in your front pockets. Wallets in back pockets are WAY too vulnerable.

Clever thinking, but that only works if you're very poor. I wouldn't be able to walk that way. But I would check my pockets after being hugged by a stranger.

Kindness to strangers usually goes a long way, and many elderly people are dependent on random strangers' small acts of kindness. It's very unfortunate that a few capable assholes have found a way to take advantage of this.

Same with the homeless. No one helps them anymore because you don't know who's a fraud and who is really in need.

Old or not, directions in a supermarket that end in a hug is rather odd.

That's pretty skilful for an elderly..LIKE A BOSS

And thus I shall never trust random elderly people. They have nothing to lose.

Next time, just run and don't look back. And hope she doesn't catch you.

So she copped a feel & stole your wallet?!
