I imagine someone in Ukraine under the Russian attack reading your story and saying, "Whoa! I thought I had it bad!"
First world issues. It may suck, and as long as you have a roof over your head, clothes on your back, food in your belly, clean water and a SAFE place to stay, you still have more than most people. Before starting over make sure your files are actually corrupted. Double check it’s not an OS issue.
Sucks, but if it’s just game data, at least you get to rebuild it the right way this time.
That's what backups are for. If the data is important for you, back it up, if it is really important for you, use alternate devices for redundant backups Otherwise, yes, losing game data is a first-world problem.
This is why backups are important. I have everything backed up on two computers and an external hard drive. But honestly, you lost progress/saves on games? And you think your life is ruined? Reality is going to bite you hard in the butt.
