Today, during a text conversation with a girl I've been trying to get with, she complained about how crummy of a day she was having. I told her it couldn't be as bad as she thought, and she would probably get it over it soon. Then she told me she had found out her cousin had been murdered. FML

Today, I ran into one of my exes, and she seemed straight up shocked to see me. She said, "OH MY GOD! You're alive?" like I was a suicide risk or something. Nope, turns out her last 3 boyfriends before me were so unstable that when she cheated on them, they killed themselves shortly after. FML

As the saying goes I believe, "to assume makes an ass out of you and me." In this case, where your friend would be the "me," the assumption only seemed to make an ass out of you. Hopefully it will teach you to ask before guessing unless they say, "Guess what happened!"
