Good guy criminal
That's illegal, in America at least. Landlords need to let the renters know ahead of time when they're coming over. Just because they own the place and have a key doesn't mean they can just barge in like that. If there are renters there, landlords need to respect them, and vice versa. OP, it was only a mop, I hope the reason you didn't let her borrow it was something like never getting the mop back, or getting a damaged mop back.
That's one Shady Landlord
Call law enforcement on her, but not before you lie & tell her you had a hidden camera in your place & footage of her stealing from you unless she returns the mop...and that you'll press charges for theft & illegal entry if she ever does it again.
And then go out and actually buy a camera/surveillance system so you can catch her when she does something crazy like this again.
Why didn't you just give her a loan of the mop in the first place? Our landlord owns a shop underneath our apartment and sometimes he'd knock and ask for our hoover and there's never any trouble...Although, our landlord is just a little old man who owns a cute little bike shop, your landlady sounds like a crazy bitch!!
Time to move.call the cops file the report and break the lease.if she is that crazy it will only get worse and You both will end up on Judge Judy .
Time to househunt, it seems...

"Which I refused to give her earlier" I feel like there's an entire magical mop-related backstory that the public has to know, damnit!
I would seriously get out of there. Landlords need to know limits.
