Yeah... never assume your interpretation of a child's drawing is what they intended to draw. ASK them what they drew before you decide to get offended by a child's drawing.

Don't worry. This is a perfect opportunity for you to show your son what you should do when you're wrong. Go to him and apologize and help him feel better. If you already did that then great and you learned a lesson too. Kids are resilient and you can heal this type of thing as long as you try.
