Today, I confided to my dad that since the recent breakup with my boyfriend of 3 months, I feel down all the time and life doesn't feel worth living anymore. His loving advice was for me to "grow the fuck up and get your sentimental head out of la-la land." FML

Today, after being dumped by my boyfriend of two years, I poured my heart out to my dad. He nodded and looked sympathetic throughout. Afterwards, I asked him what I should do. He replied, "How the hell should I know?" and awkwardly left my room. FML

Today, I came home crying after my boyfriend dumped me for another girl. My dad told me to come tell him what was wrong. I sat down and let it all out, after which he looked up from his book, into my eyes, and gave me his loving advice: "Just cry about it and move on to another bastard." FML

Today, I went to my father for advice. I've been seeing a wonderful girl for the past month, and I feel terrible about it, because I already have a girlfriend. He said "Kill yourself" and that if I "can't even do that right" then to get out of his house, because he disowns me. FML

Today, I was sitting in my room when my dad walked in to talk. He said I'm not the son he'd hoped for, and that he'd been let down as a father. He said I should change the way I am so that he could love me more. It was the longest conversation I've had with my dad in years. FML

I'm really surprised at how many people are bashing this girl. Maybe it was a short relationship, but it obviously was serious to her. Being told over and over that she's a stupid bitch for being upset will only upset her more. Where's the compassion?

that's some real shyt though... I mean if you feel that way after three months... the way it sounds... what would you feel after three years. Maybe he didn't have to say it like that, but life is full of.changes that will suck, but wé have to bounce back from it.... but i can't lié i was rlmmao...

Months is a bit short to want to kill yourself no matter who you are. Its perfectly okay to feel sad for a couple of days but not killing yourself. Listen to your dad, he means well. DAD=Tough Love remember that haha

I'm sorry dear but you really deserved it. Its obvious that if you fall so hard and than get so worked up after only three months that you probably overreact to many, many things and your father is sick and tired of it ,
