Today, I went to my father for advice. I've been seeing a wonderful girl for the past month, and I feel terrible about it, because I already have a girlfriend. He said "Kill yourself" and that if I "can't even do that right" then to get out of his house, because he disowns me. FML

Today, I was sitting in my room when my dad walked in to talk. He said I'm not the son he'd hoped for, and that he'd been let down as a father. He said I should change the way I am so that he could love me more. It was the longest conversation I've had with my dad in years. FML

Everyone is saying that it's not a big deal since you dated for 3 months. That's bullshit, everyone develops feelings slower or faster than other people. I've been dating my boyfriend for 4 months and I would be really upset if we broke up. Don't feel bad about that.

Oh my god. You guys are such awful people. Some humans have emotions and actually get attached to people within a short period of time. That was a hidious thing for OP's dad to say and you all said such hidious things too. Maybe her ex completely betrayed her and broke her heart and she has trouble trusting people now. Either way if your child confides something like that to you, the correct response should somehow indicate humanity... Honestly you guys are being so so cruel
