Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my adult daughter was hospitalized for severe fever, diarrhea, and fainting. The doctor couldn't find any cause other than sleep deprivation, because I started making her wake up at 7 am. I’ve never met anyone so ridiculously weak in my entire life. FML
Today, I finally finished a gruelling shift at the hospital. I hadn't slept in over 30 hours, so I was happy to get out. I was quickly rushed back in after I collapsed in the parking lot and cracked my head open. FML
Today, I went to my dad's workplace because my sister was there and I wanted to see my newborn niece. I was overjoyed until my dad came up to me. It had apparently been pretty hectic for the past week, because he was on the verge of another stress-induced heart attack. Yes, another. We had to help him outside. FML
Today, my wife and I both got released from the hospital. She was admitted for the birth of our daughter. I was admitted with a broken arm from when my mother-in-law shoved me out of the way because she wanted to be the first one to hold the baby after my wife. FML
Today, after seven years, I finally found out why my sister was mad at me: Because I had to get admitted to give birth on the day she had planned her baby shower, which she didn't inform me about or invite me to. As I stole her thunder by giving birth, being full term 44 weeks and way past my due date. FML
Today, my sister refused to come to the hospital with the rest of my family to visit my new baby. Apparently, I’m an "attention hogging slutbag" because I "chose to go into labor" on her birthday. FML
Today, I'm recovering from an emergency room visit. I was vomiting, sweating, shaking, crying, and couldn't even speak properly. I was scared of that, and scared of hospitals after a routine surgery nearly killed me two years ago. Most of my family are convinced I was faking all of it. FML
Today, I was supposed to be enjoying a long-anticipated, desperately needed, weekend away. Turns out those "little stomach twinges" were actually symptoms of appendicitis. I'm stuck in the hospital, alone, recovering from surgery, while my family is enjoying our non-refundable break. FML
Today, I went to the hospital due to extreme sickness. My boyfriend saw this as an opportune time to take another girl out since I was "otherwise preoccupied." FML
Today, I've been in my old hometown visiting because my sister is having her baby. I scheduled the trip a full week after her due date, and still no baby. We tried everything to start her labor. I had to go back home, and as soon as my plane landed, I got a text saying she just gave birth. FML

I work at a hospital and had to cover a sick nurse's shift last week. I worked 14 hours straight without a break, on top of having been up 10 hours prior to that. Either you got totally duped into letting them admit you, or you're an abnormally weak individual...

How are you in sever exhaustion from waiting around for your sister to have a baby? It doesn't require any effort and you could have slept. Dumbie!

Op was doing backflips and cheerleading the entire time "Push PUSH go sis if you can't do it no one can!!!"

Really? Awake for 12 whole hours? How many hours a night do you sleep?! Suck it up, chump.

You were all there, right? You all saw the OP just sitting in a chair for twelve hours, watching the sister give birth? You all know what the OP had been doing prior to the time he or she spent in the hospital?

OP sounds like an asshole. The sister spent 12 hours in severe pain pushing a baby out her lower regions, and OP, what, sat on a foldout chair and watched a few feet away? Yeah, sounds positively exhausting, buddy. And why's it a FML that he got admitted to the same hospital? Did you expect them to air lift your fancy butt to nicer one or something? It's only common sense to stay in the hospital you're literally already standing in. ******' dumbass.

You must be gigantically obese. I have stayed up for like 4 days in Iraq doing physical labor and not gotten exhaustion. Your in a hospital with AC. Lady, get another big Mac and stfu.

Really? I'm sorry, but you should not be complaining about your "severe" exhaustion when it's your sister that was in labor and is looking at at least a year of absolutely no sleep. This shouldn't have even made it on to FML. 12 hours of no sleep is nothing. Try 72. Then getting just a nap.

You must feel pretty lame for being exhausted. Think about your sister who not only would have been up with contractions way longer than you, but then had to push a baby out! Unless you have some horrible illness I can't feel sorry for you

Take a chill pill. Too bad it will cost a few grand while you are in the hospital.
