Today, I'm being admitted to the hospital for severe exhaustion. Why am I exhausted? For spending 12 hours at the hospital while my sister gave birth. The same hospital I'm being admitted to. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my adult daughter was hospitalized for severe fever, diarrhea, and fainting. The doctor couldn't find any cause other than sleep deprivation, because I started making her wake up at 7 am. I’ve never met anyone so ridiculously weak in my entire life. FML
Today, I finally finished a gruelling shift at the hospital. I hadn't slept in over 30 hours, so I was happy to get out. I was quickly rushed back in after I collapsed in the parking lot and cracked my head open. FML
Today, I went to my dad's workplace because my sister was there and I wanted to see my newborn niece. I was overjoyed until my dad came up to me. It had apparently been pretty hectic for the past week, because he was on the verge of another stress-induced heart attack. Yes, another. We had to help him outside. FML
Today, my wife and I both got released from the hospital. She was admitted for the birth of our daughter. I was admitted with a broken arm from when my mother-in-law shoved me out of the way because she wanted to be the first one to hold the baby after my wife. FML
Today, after seven years, I finally found out why my sister was mad at me: Because I had to get admitted to give birth on the day she had planned her baby shower, which she didn't inform me about or invite me to. As I stole her thunder by giving birth, being full term 44 weeks and way past my due date. FML
Today, my sister refused to come to the hospital with the rest of my family to visit my new baby. Apparently, I’m an "attention hogging slutbag" because I "chose to go into labor" on her birthday. FML
Today, I'm recovering from an emergency room visit. I was vomiting, sweating, shaking, crying, and couldn't even speak properly. I was scared of that, and scared of hospitals after a routine surgery nearly killed me two years ago. Most of my family are convinced I was faking all of it. FML
Today, I was supposed to be enjoying a long-anticipated, desperately needed, weekend away. Turns out those "little stomach twinges" were actually symptoms of appendicitis. I'm stuck in the hospital, alone, recovering from surgery, while my family is enjoying our non-refundable break. FML
Today, I went to the hospital due to extreme sickness. My boyfriend saw this as an opportune time to take another girl out since I was "otherwise preoccupied." FML
Today, I've been in my old hometown visiting because my sister is having her baby. I scheduled the trip a full week after her due date, and still no baby. We tried everything to start her labor. I had to go back home, and as soon as my plane landed, I got a text saying she just gave birth. FML

I work at a hospital and had to cover a sick nurse's shift last week. I worked 14 hours straight without a break, on top of having been up 10 hours prior to that. Either you got totally duped into letting them admit you, or you're an abnormally weak individual...

You deserve it for being exhausted after only 12 hours! Your sister is the one who should be exhausted she was the one in labor that whole time

You ARE kidding, right?? I've given birth and it took me 63 hours & a lot of blood, but not even I was 'exhausted'..... Weird!

Ouch. Any amount of hours in labor SUCK. I had a miscarriage the other day and it was way more terrifying and painful then when I was in labor for 16 hours. **** that.

Maybe it's a typo, maybe you meant more hours. Whatever, I don't know if it's a fyl or a ydi.

Think about how ur sister feels after going through labor for 12 hours

I get up at 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, drive an hour and fifteen minutes to work, work a ten hour day, then drive an hour and fifteen minutes back home. I avarage about four to five hours of sleep a night and I function just fine. What kind of pussy are you??? I agree with so many others in here, it sounds like you are soooooo upset that your sister is getting all the attention (which she deserves) and you're in the background. Well Boo-Hoo-Hoo - GROW UP - I bet as a kid you were always "Hey look at me, Hey everybody look at me" and when they didn't look you threw yourself on the gorund kicking and crying - what a baby you are - get some maturity in your life....

I combat severe exhaustion with extreme sleep.

you are probably monstrously obese and probably can't run for 30 seconds straight that or you haven't eaten in a week

Your sister is of childbearing age, meaning you are close to that, and you get severe exhaustion and need hospitalized after 12 hours? Stop watching Jersey Shore and move your butt down the street once in a while. And put down that donut! Oh, right, and what everyone said... She was in labor and you were just sitting there watching Jersey Shore! Grow up!

48- I agree with you except for one thing- you can't assume that siblings are close together in age. My sister, for example, is nearly 18 years younger than me. So just because the sister is having a baby doesn't mean OP is anywhere near that age.

What the hell is it with you and jersey shore?

You're tired?? Try BEING in labor that long you whiny bitch. Try being in labor even longer than that, come back and then you can complain about being exhausted!

what? stop typing things while you're exhausted, you sound dumb.
