Today, I told my girlfriend of eight months that if she didn't start taking my band's music seriously, we couldn't see each other anymore. She said fine, and I hugged her, but then she stood up and said, 'I hope we can still be friends,' and walked out the door. FML

Today, my girlfriend of 8 months and I broke up. We decided to give back everything we ever bought for each other. I gave her the stuff she bought me and when I asked for my stuff she said she'd sold it and spent the money on herself. FML
Today, I poured my heart out to my girlfriend with a serenade. After I finished, she told me she'd come over to tell me she'd found someone else and wanted to break up. FML
Today, my girlfriend, who I've been living with for the last month, told me she's not attracted to me and wants to see other people. She told me this after months of dating and telling me she was thinking about having a child with me. FML
Today, I told my long-distance girlfriend that I just could not handle the distance and we should just be friends. To which she responded, "What? You thought we were going out? Lol". FML
Today, my girlfriend told me that we should take a break from our relationship, because it'd be best for the both of us. Later, I found out that she really meant it'd be best for her and her new boyfriend. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me, saying, "I'm not ready for a serious relationship." We're supposed to get married in a month. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said she wanted to stay just friends. Not only did I get denied, apparently we're also "just friends." FML
Today, I called my girlfriend saying "I think we need to break up." She said "No, I don't think so," and hung up. FML
Today, I told to my girlfriend of 5 years that I'm depressed about having no friends, no job and a difficult family life. I told her that she's the one constant that keeps me going. She decided this was a good time to break up with me to "find" herself, since I was being so mopey. FML

Maybe she wanted to date someone with a reasonable dream. Creative pursuits are great and all that, but it's not very often that you get a huge record deal and become completely famous. Maybe she doesn't want to live a poverish live with a man that won't give up his aspirations for some stupid notion of noteriety. Good on her. YFDI.

Dude, nobody takes garage bands seriously. Even if you've had a couple of gigs, chances are in five years no one will remember you were ever in one. You're an idiot for expecting people to take it seriously, and a bigger idiot, not to mention a total ass, for threatening to dump your girlfriend for not taking it seriously. I would have dumped you too, and I would have thought she was stupid if she hadn't dumped you. Have fun being alone.

I don't think you understand how much how good a band is doesn't even matter with fame. It's all luck. And secondly, I bet your music sucks anyway. No offense, but there are way too many wannabees who just can't play.
