Better out than in, I always say. I guess there aren't many otolaryngologists out in the swamp, Shrek.
Ever hear of Q-Tips? You have to be careful. I rotate the q-tip as I put it in. I can tell from the sound when it’s getting close to my eardrum which is when you stop. If you’re really clumsy, forget it, by the way. And of course don’t do this if you are drunk or high… A drop of baby oil on a Q-Tip makes it effective at removing earwax. Then use a dry Q-Tip end to remove any excess oil. Do it every night and you won’t have an earwax problem… My Dad had excess earwax and I used to watch him and his Q-Tips every day. And as I got older I made it part of my daily routine… By the way don’t reuse a Q-Tip even from one of your ears to the other - It could spread an infection if you have one… Oh, by the way, I used to get the occasional ear infection in the winter. Taking an allergy pill daily (I use OTC Zyrtec) seems to have helped with that, though I’m not sure why.
