Dammit

Today, after a month of planning, I started to tease my boyfriend of 3 years about the wonderful anniversary plans I had made for us. It was a secret, so I let him try and guess. He said, "As long as it's not a spa day. That would suck, I'd never go." It's a spa day. That I've already paid for. FML

FYL for already paying for it, but YDI for not knowing what he likes.

Take your best friend and get him something else and just don't tell him about your original idea. It's not that big of a deal. P.S. You'd think after 3 years you'd know if he liked spa days or not.

y would u have a spa day for ur anniversary? i mean come on! guys dont want that. dur.

You should take the time to learn what your boyfriend does and does not like instead of assuming he likes the same crap you like.

wow, you're with him for 3 years and you didnt know that he would hate going to a spa. only FYL because you are in a relationship where you dont communicate enough.

I'm glad it's been said: not only do you get him something that is clearly for you and NOT for him for your anniversary, but he's come to expect disappointment to the degree that he predicts precisely what you're going to do. Nice. Unless he was being sarcastic, and just happened to hit the nail on the head, I guess.

Hahahaha sounds like you made 3 year anniversary plans for YOURSELF. Way to only look out for number one. tsk tsk.

This, this, and this again. YDI for thinking your boyfriend of 3 years (or any guy for that matter) would enjoy a spa day.

YDI. Way to buy yourself an anniversary present. Unless your man particularly enjoys going to the spa, which you would - I hope - know before three years of dating, that's no gift for a guy.

It's your relationship's anniversary. You chose this because it's something YOU like. If you took the time and consideration to ask what he likes, you wouldn't be in this position. Lesson learned. YDI

It took you a month to plan that? wtf!?

you've known the guy 3 years, sheesh, YDI

Right...like it's not at all idiotic to assume that your boyfriend would want to go to the spa (of all places) on his birthday.
