CPTSD

Today, I was telling my new boyfriend some of my funny family stories. He gave me the most concerned look and asked honestly, “Have you ever thought about going to therapy?” Apparently the stories I told him not only weren’t funny, but pretty damn scary to him. Now he thinks I’m crazy. FML

You may be.

You may be dealing with your trauma by playing it off as funny. Perhaps you should see a therapist to get checked out.

Maybe you're ok and your boyfriend is a tight-ass.

if they don't negatively impact you I wouldn't worry about it too much. I hope he doesn't actually think your crazy though, that much of leap on his part would be worrisome

he prob just doesn't realize that not everyone grows up the same, with the same type of families, I know someone who told me some pretty messed up shit that he just laughed at and at the end he said " everyone grows up differently " which kind of opened my eyes a bit more then they were!
