Coworkers aren't friends

Today, in an act of friendship, I made chicken curry for a colleague and brought it to work. She looked excited and squealed, "Yum!" When leaving the office at 5pm, she told me she was "taking it to eat at home." But at 7pm, during my routine snooping around for snacks, I found the curry hidden behind a shelf. FML

While many people like spicy foods, not everyone does… OP your heart was on the right place. But in the future, before just bringing in food for someone ask first if they would like it. Many people have dietary restrictions or preferences that might not be obvious. And of course, not everyone likes the same things.

So your attempt to curry favor with your co-worker was a naan-starter?

Oof. I’m so sorry, OP. At least you tried, and it was 100% a jerk move to hide the container and lie about it to your face.

It really is the thought that counts, and if she hadn't wanted to spare your feelings, she would have told you it wasn't appreciated. Tomorrow, ask her if she has any pointers for next time you make it.

It’s still possible she forgot to grab it…

Well now you have some delicious homemade curry for dinner and you know youll like it!

Today, the coworker who refuses to listen to me when I say I am not interested in a relationship of any type, brought me some food from home. I had to fake liking it to keep from looking like a total ass in front of everyone, and threw the food away as soon as I could. FML.
