CBD FML

Today, I'm planning a long awaited trip to Australia to see family I haven't seen since before the pandemic. I use CBD for pain, and everything I've read contradicts itself. I have no idea if I can take it with me, buy it there, or have to get a prescription or whatever. I guess I'm going to be in pain the whole time. FML

Hey OP, Australia does not differentiate between marijuana and hemp, but rather throws the two in the same bucket as cannabis. Since cannabis and cannabis products are classed as a controlled substance, you can't buy it over the counter. Unless you are an Aus resident, you will not be eligible to enroll in the medical marijuana program. They are legalizing CBD edibles over the counter, but not sure when you will see them in pharmacies. You will be able to bring your stuff with you if you are enrolled in a medical marijuana program at home, have a prescription, and all your CBD comes from a licensed dispensary and is marked as such. My sister is on CBD here for her pain, it’s prescription though, I’d bring a note from your doctor if you can’t bring your own oil with you and find a doctor here to agree to prescribe it
