Bunged up

Today, as caregiver, I had to physically remove the shit my grandpa had stuck in his rectum, because he doesn't remember how to shit. He barely knows who I am, which is good because when he remembers who he is, he becomes an abusive asshole. I'm 27. FML

Check into in home support services and hospice care.
Anyone else who can help with him? I'm the only person in my family who cared. Most of my life was siblings and family members.
I'm glad I have my wife because none of them ever ask how I'm doing, and I have several autoimmune disorders.
Good luck

Dunno if it will work on an elderly but when my son was a baby he had bad dry poop issues and his mom would physically try to remove it and it was awful and gross. Being highly motivated not too have to dig shit out of my kids butthole I discovered that when it got stuck like that a warm bath solved the problem really fast. Warmth relaxes everything and the water absorbs up there. You might give that a try next time if possible, much easier to clean up too lol..
