Today, after two weeks visiting my boyfriend's family in rural Mississippi, we finally returned to civilization. Unfortunately, I pick up on accents really easily, and now I sound like a hick. My boyfriend thinks it's cute, but I hate it. FML

Let’s see, I grew up in Mississippi and now live in Alabama - Yet I have a university engineering degree… But seriously, I understand about picking up accents having lived all over the country. Almost everyone has an accent of their region - That doesn’t automatically make them an ignorant hick… If you picked up a Southern accent quickly, it will pass quickly when you are back home.
