Do you know the song "Snack bar chez Raymond"? That's what your fly screens remind me of.
I grew up in the Southeast USA. Bugs are a constant factor in 3/4 of the year here unless you have air conditioning. A fully functioning (zero holes or gaps) screen on all windows and doors is essential if you open up the house. Fly swatters, bait, and other such things are necessary to get rid of any bugs that make their way inside. It’s frustrating and maddening but as long as the screens are in good condition and no one is leaving the screens open at the doors you will eventually be rid of the bugs. Here all screen doors have springs so they don’t get accidentally left open.
