Bore off

Today, I keep getting ghosted on every platform. People seem interested until they see my face, and vanish. What gives? I'm plain but not unattractive, nor heavy or blemished. Just average. Boring average. FML
I agree, your life sucks 490

That's the fall out from 'Instagram face'. Unless you are wearing so much make up no one can see your actual face you aren't 'attractive'. Which is absolute bullshit. You're beautiful just the way you are and a lil perseverance will find you someone who genuinely appreciates honest beauty. Hang in there and be happy that you're not having to deal with horrific skin issues caused by being unable to exist without troweling half a tonne of goop on your face everyday just to feel accepted. 💋

Maybe review what you're saying on your dates. My guess is your hitting on controversy, drama, damage, or telling stories where you're clearly the villian. Good luck, if you figure it out please share you're unlikely to be the only one.

OP, I will make a couple of suggestions that might help (I hope): ... (1) Camera angle counts. We are used to seeing people eye to eye in normal conversation. If the camera is below eye level, it creates a different perspective that is unnatural and not flattering. Having the camera lens at eye level or just slightly above is ideal. And it helps if the lighting is falling on your face, but not so strongly that you are squinting. (2) Smile - In this culture people like to see that they are welcome and a smile does that. Not a big ear to ear to ear grin but a natural looking smile that says I'm glad you're here. Imagine reacting to a friend or relative that you like being around - That's the kind of smile people want to see. God only knows I've been told that myself (to smile) in pictures I post on Facebook. I am not saying you or anyone else needs to walk around always smiling like an idiot - But when it comes down to trying to make a good visual impression a smile is the best makeup for a man or a woman. And finally no "duck lips" I cannot imagine why people do that... OP, I hope this is helpful. Everyone deserves to be seen and appreciated.

Also, get a dog or a cat. People with dogs or cats in their photo get more answers than people who don't. Plus, at least the pet will like you for who you are, as long as you take good care of it.
