Today, I realized I forgot to write a 5000 word essay for my English class. I tried to be calm since I had until midnight to finish, and it was only 8pm. I typed for three hours straight,and finished the assignment. I read over the instruction again, and realized it only had to be 500 words. FML

Today, I had a mental breakdown because I have a 10,000 word final project due on Monday and I have only 800 words written so far, because I have been working on other classes and trying to be outside with my friends in the nice weather this week. FML
Today, I submitted my 5000 word assignment. When I got home, my mother asked if I'd checked it through one more time like she always warned me to do. I hadn't, therefore hadn't noticed the paragraph on page 11 that she'd written, telling me to pay attention to the small details. FML
Today, I pulled an all-nighter to finish an essay. I submitted it one minute before the deadline. Later, I opened the file to double-check and realized I'd uploaded my rough draft, containing notes like “THIS PART MAKES NO SENSE, FIX LATER.” The professor then replied, “I agree with your assessments.” FML
Today, I ended up being wasting an entire week on a very important scholarship essay because I thought the requirements said “3500 words” when in reality, they said “3500 characters.” FML
Today, after pulling an all-nighter on an essay, I submitted it one minute before the deadline and felt like a genius. Later, I reopened the file and discovered I'd uploaded the rough draft instead of the final version. The last line ended with “fix this later,” which was not my finest academic work. FML
Today, I was taking a test and thought I was doing great until I realized I was writing all my answers on the question paper, not the answer sheet. By the time I noticed, there were only five minutes left. FML
Today, I was prioritizing my extreme amount of homework. I read over the front page of my psychology paper seeing that it was pretty easy questions, I decided to do it last. Little did I know there was a 8 page essay on the back of the page. It's 12:19 am. FML
Today, after submitting a 500-word essay to a writing contest, I found out that I lost to someone who wrote 3 sentences. FML
Today, I tried to finish an essay, which is already overdue by 5 days. I know the longer I procrastinate, the longer the pain will last, but my brain is still not working and can't start to write. FML
Today, I pulled an all-nighter to finish rereading my set work for my English exam. I managed to finish earlier than expected and decided to get some sleep. I then promptly slept through my alarm and missed my exam. FML

What is a triumvirate?

JCL is the abbreviation for the Junior Classical League which is basically a worldwide Latin club (it also includes Greek, but you don't see much Greek at JCL events.) It was a lot of fun. We learned the Latin language, but also Greek and Roman mythology, classical history and culture. Back then, it was the only language taught at schools that had a national convention. Maybe you can imagine what a bunch of nerd boys and nerd girls do when they congregate far from their parents. ;) Veni, Vidi, Veni. So, in high school, as the various groups are trying to make themselves heard, we nerds of the Latin club had our battle cry. A triumvirate is a group of three men. They were supposed to be more stable than having a single leader. The Roman Republic had two triumvirates who led Rome near the end of it's ~700 year run.

actually, they can count off for extra work, because it shows that you can't be concise. honestly, no teacher wants to read that much and they get pretty irritated when you make them. they give you word limit, because an essay has to be like a woman's skirt, "long enough to cover, but short enough to keep it interesting" anyway YDI for procrastinating and for not being able to read

You've got to show that you read and understood the question. If you hand in 5000 words for a 500 word essay you will fail. At least the hard work is done. Now just delete 90% of it, while keeping the structure.
