Today, I quit smoking. It seems that when you don't smoke for almost 24 hours, your sense of smell comes back. I then noticed how disgusting my apartment smells. Great. FML

It's true. When I stopped smoking I started realizing how strong the smell is on my friends and the clothes in my closet. I began to feel bad for people that I sat next to or worked with because I'm positive they could smell me.

actually the smell does go away it's called you bleach the Walls then go over it with tide and the smell is practically gone.

But.. The OP quit smoking. If this FML was about a current smoker, everyone would say that, too. There's no winning, is there? Good for you, OP. Hopefully you haven't been smoking long enough for it to have done too much damage. That smell is grody, though!

For those less intelligent, washing then painting the walls with a mildew and mold resistant. And how dare you pass such harsh judgement on someone for doing something bad for their health. however most of the effects of smoking do reverse and they START fast too, in 3 days your lungs start reparing itself.

Honestly I'm just wondering how stupid you have to be not not get that you smell as a smoker. Even if you can't smell yourself, you're going to smell awful if you're a smoker - even if you just live with one. Everyone that has ever been around you has noticed the smell and I'm sure it repulsed them.
