Social anxiety wins again

By sierra - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, an attractive guy asked me to get coffee with him. My response was, "I don't drink coffee." I turned down the first guy to ask me out in 3 months. FML

Coffee shops usually have more than just coffee. =p

Honesty is the best way to start a relationship, or in OP's case, end a not yet started one

"I don't drink coffee, but I'd love to go with you anyway" ;)

How can you complain when you're the one who turned him down?

SnipeFatPeople 6

^ I don't think your picture helps OP in anyway

I don't think she did the hot coffee mod properly...

That's great OP. maybe deep down you really don't want to go out on dates ?

Or at least find another drink so you can get you some.

Have some butterbeer instead....bitches love that shit.

Drink a glass of water! What you do & don't drink is beside the point. When someone invites you for a drink answer the invitation don't talk about your likes and dislikes.

Get used to the fact that there are a bunch of people who do not drink coffee. I don't like coffee either.

sar·casm/?sär?kaz?m/ Noun: The use to mock or convey contempt.

It's pretty obvious that you're clueless as to how sarcasm is actually used. Here, let me help: if I were to say "Oh wow, what an intelligent and thought-provoking comment you left there!" then THAT would be sarcasm.

I know right? Simple matter to say, "but I do drink tea"

23, or they could say, "I do eat lunch though!" BAM instant upgrade.

flockz 19

or "i'm good on my knees". i think that would work pretty well.

Best way for a girl to respond. Haha.

…or may backfire to imply religious tendencies. Read: on knees in prayer.

64- Can you be good at praying, by that logic? I think we all know what being GOOD on her knees is about :D

I like your idea 48 cause then OP gets free lunch instead of free coffee/tea/drink of some sort

Next time you see him (if you do again) ask him out to lunch.

Honestly, I think all of us at done point have talked ourselves out of golden opportunities. This beautiful girl with a great personality asked me to a concert with her and I said no I don't like the band. Been regretting it 8 years and running..

TriflingAllDay 6

8 years and running, huh.. Is this how often you get a chance with a lady.

Glad you thought so. It means the world to me.

33 - puns about coffee? Looks like we've found common grounds.

Don't cause a latte problems with these puns.

Guys really? Coffee puns? I can't stand you losers that have bean sitting around brewing up bad jokes to post on FML's

flockz 19

your lack of humor just grinds my gears.

If you guys don't stop I'll call out Al Cappuccino on you.

80- this isn't a roast, this is a place for comical coffee puns.

Why not just say how about we make it a movie date? And people of FML, what does OP stand for?

It means Original Poster, the person who made the FML. Btw, first comment ever for me :D

SnipeFatPeople 6

OP is the person who wrote the FML

Ah of course. Thank you. Congrats on your first comment! It was very helpful

Hey! It's mpsteve! Does anyone remember that, mpsteve instead of mp3..? No?

#7 open=original poster... ...or original prankster if you're with the offspring.. lol

The OP stands for a radical anti-caffeine agenda. It's an unholy alliance of Mormons and the corporate lackeys for Big Cocoa.

It was probably a good time to start.

Happens To me all the time. I hate being awkward>.>

You should probably stop doing that then. It seems to be counterproductive to you.

Going for coffee, usually doesn't " really mean " going for coffee!!! Guess you'll be prepared next time!!! :)

There's a great scene from Seinfeld about that.
