White collar crime

Today, after I told my boss I'd found a serious error that cost the company thousands each year, I found out he'd fled abroad. Turns out the error was him stealing for the past 40 years, our entire department is under investigation and the owner is considering scrapping our office and firing us. FML

You did the right thing. It’s much better to find the embezzlement than to have been accused of doing it.

Being a whistleblower is very risky, but sometimes it needs to be done

The company I work for the CFO had embezzled hundreds of thousands. She managed to hide it but shortly after leaving it was immediately discovered. She just got a slap on the wrist though, 0 jail time had to pay it back. Though being as she had a 6 figure salary wasn't a big deal for her.

You thought the company would be loyal to you? Ha. Best joke ever. They give less than a shit about you, I promise you that.

so you just let your boss steal from the company for 40 years?
