Today, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and talk to my coworker because people have been saying I’m too shy. I say, "Hey" to a girl and she made fun of my voice. She’s the one who told me to talk more. FML

Today, I had to call a customer. I usually try to avoid calling customers because I have a very prominent speech impediment. Well, it turns out the customer I called also has a speech impediment and thought I was mocking her. She hung up on me and filed a formal complaint with my company. FML

Today, I decided to talk to a girl at the gym I had seen there a lot. I walked up to her at the station she was at and asked her out to dinner sometime. I didn't realize she had been wearing headphones. She took them off and asked if I was waiting on the station. My courage left. I said yes. FML

I’m sorry that you had to go through that OP. Some people can be quite cruel. Just rest assured knowing that people who act like that are generally not happy people. They usually act out by pointing out other people’s ‘flaws’ to divert attention away from their own perceived flaws and to temporarily make themselves feel superior. It’s far more a reflection of their character than it is of you.

Ah nothing like being kicked when you're already down. I'm sure they ENJOYED mocking you and shredding your confidence. She's probably juggling 3 boyfriends anyways, if not more...why put yourself through the humiliation?

nice guys don't come in last...they don't come at all. At least now you know there's no chemistry and you can quit lying to yourself. Meanwhile, they can get off on their cruelty, since they enjoy it so much.
