Jacks jacket United States

What would you do?

Today, I wore a jacket I bought yesterday at a thrift store to work. During lunch, I found a folded note in the inside pocket that said, "Call Mom. Tell her I'm okay." I spent the rest of the day wondering who had owned the jacket and whether I should actually call the number on the note. FML

I think you should call the number. it might be the sign someone is praying for

Unless the coat was stolen, calling will probably end well.

Tell someone their child is "ok" when you have no idea who the child is or the situation? How does that conversation go? "hi, idk you, but I found a note in a discarded piece of clothing that said 'tell mom I'm ok'.... no, I have no idea if they are ok, but thought you should know!". How would that do anything good?

you can give that mother exactly zero information on her child, you have no idea what kind of situation these people might have gone through. I'd stay out of it.
