Today, my mom thought it would be a good idea to see what websites I go on from my computer while I wasn't home. She clicked the link that gave my computer a virus that I just got rid of a few days ago. FML

Today, my mom borrowed my computer without my permission and downloaded a virus. I came home to a blue screen of death. She refuses to admit fault and pay for a new computer. FML

Today, my dad was sat on my laptop in the living room trying to learn how to do some rewiring around the house when he, and I quote, ”clicked on the thing.” My laptop is now riddled with so many viruses it’s basically a house brick. FML

Today, I was having computer problems, so I let my friend have remote access to fix them. We were video-chatting on Skype at the time, and so he thought it'd be hilarious to load hardcore porn in my browser the moment he saw my mom enter the room from behind me. I'm now grounded. FML

Today, my step-mom restarted the computer because she thought she'd downloaded a virus that stopped her from being able to click on anything, erasing my 7-page paper in the process. It turns out it was just the batteries dying in our wireless mouse. FML

Today, I sent my mom a link to a news article via Facebook. Immediately after sending, however, I noticed I had forgotten to copy the news article's link, and what I had sent instead was the last thing I had copied and pasted: a porn link. FML

Today, I asked my mom to help my daughter with Zoom school while I handled an emergency. When I got back, I found out my mom went through my laptop containing all my documents, my emails and even the journal my therapist suggested I keep. She says she was looking for a Zoom link. Yeah right. FML

Don't know if it was ****, astrology or software cracking, but if I could give you two YDIs, I would. One count for not surfing safely and hanging out at seedy sites. One count for not clearing your history. If you're pirating software, get a good internet security suite. Bookmark every site you go to regularly and set firefox to clear your history when you close. Your auto-fill will still work for anything you have in the bookmarks. Get stumble-upon and let it modify google results. If you see a **** site with a good stumble-upon rating (or any rating at all, really) it's probably safe. The funny thing is, the **** sites most likely to have browser hijackers and the rest are usually the really weird stuff like wheelchair ****, down syndrome **** and girls sucking off dogs.
