Hey all - I'm the OP. To answer the most commonly asked question: the trick to keeping cookies fresh for a week is to add an extra tablespoon of vegetable oil to the dough, putting a piece of bread in with them and putting them in the smallest ziploc possible.

Why is everyone assuming the guy is overseas serving a tour of duty? Maybe he's overseas on a study abroad program. Makes more sense to me why he would suddenly break up with her. That does suck. In the future, probably should avoid the dirty videos - there's no way to control who ultimately sees them.
