Today, my 19-year-old son told me his girlfriend is pregnant, and was diagnosed with an STD. He's sure that he's the father. He's also sure he doesn't have an STD, because he's a virgin. I had to give him the sex talk that his school never did, as well as explain to him that his girlfriend is a cheater. FML

Why do parents expect the school to do everything for them? It's not their job to teach your child about sex so YDI

Jeez, why didn't you tell him about sex when he was about 10 or 11? My God, man. Or woman. Responsibility! It's kind of your fault now.

I didn't no what text wasn't I was 17. When people would try to tell me, I'd just cover my ears and run away. But either way sex ed is necessary period whether taught at home or school.

And they want to take away sex Ed?! Unbelievable. You should of had that talk with him years ago. Thank god he hasn't had sex yet. He would of ended up a father and with a crazy ass std. Folks education starts at home.

How ******* sheltered have you kept that kid? Jesus tap-dancing Christ!

YDI. It's your job to teach your kid about these things, not the school's.

You shouldn't leave the sex talk to the schools. You let your son be oblivious to sexual health until 19!

19 sounds a little late for the sex talk, come on parents.

My school taught us about sex in the 4th grade. ...I feel like your son was very embarrassed.

voting you deserved it his lack of knowledge is clearly from you inability as a parent to teach him about personal and social issues. schools are for math science and history.

Schools can never be trusted to give good sex ed. You should have taught him way before he was 19.
