Today, I woke up to find that the large container of leftover beef stroganoff that I put down the garbage disposal last night had backed up into my bathtub this morning. FML

Today, I was draining the water from my fishbowl out into the kitchen sink. The fish was still in it and decided to go with the flow, literally, right into the garburator. I was too scared to stick my hand down there to save it; instead I panicked and turned the garburator on. FML

Today, I spent all day and last night in the bathroom. The seafood I'd been keeping in the refrigerator apparently had gone bad, and is now intent on finding its every possible route to the Great Porcelain Whirlpool. FML

Today, I looked into my sink's garbage disposal for the first time since I moved in two months ago. Apparently, the putrid smell was not the food I've been throwing down it, but instead, a now what appears to be mutilated litter of rats. FML

Today, I came home to find that maggots had taken over my garbage can this weekend. We weren't home to catch it, and I didn't use the garbage this morning. On top of that, I hadn't had my caffeine for the day because I ran out and forgot. FML

Today, my dog threw up on my bed while I was sleeping. I lost an hour of the day washing the vomit out with a rag, and my garbage disposal jammed on whatever otherworldly things my dog ate the day before. I had to dig it out by hand. FML

Today, I woke up to find that there has been a water main break in my neighborhood and there is no running water until the break is located and fixed. I had chili with beans late last night and it is wreaking havoc with my lower gastrointestinal tract, and the toilet won't flush. FML

Today, I awoke in my bathtub, water all over the floor, all the way into my living room. I drank too much so I don't remember getting into the bath, I have no clue how long I was in there, and I got a message from the manager of my apartment complex telling me the water had leaked into the apartment below. FML

Today, I came home to find that while my husband and children were mindlessly watching TV, one of our dogs got into the cupboard that stores the deep fryer. He got the lid off, ate all of the old oil and barfed everything up on the couch. FML

I'm a plumber so let me offer some advice. rule of thumb states that excess food needs to be disposed of in the garbage. the purpose of your disposal is for small scrap meal left on the plate that wouldn't come off by scraping the plate over the garbage can. examples: rice pieces, a few noodles, or that little bit of lettuce from your salad. not an entire rubbermaid container of stroganoff. PS the only thing that is good for your disposal is ice. it sharpens the blades and doesn't clog up. NO EGGSHELLS OR POTATO SKINS. just FYI

yes it is, OP is an idiot though. the garbage disposal is for cleaning the little scraps off your plate, not for huge amounts of food!! Thats what your trash can is for.

um, garbage disposal isnt connected to plumbing that hooks to you shower, so its impossible for it to be stroganoff....its some other unwanted type of 'left overs'.
