Today, I woke up to find that the large container of leftover beef stroganoff that I put down the garbage disposal last night had backed up into my bathtub this morning. FML

I'm a plumber so let me offer some advice. rule of thumb states that excess food needs to be disposed of in the garbage. the purpose of your disposal is for small scrap meal left on the plate that wouldn't come off by scraping the plate over the garbage can. examples: rice pieces, a few noodles, or that little bit of lettuce from your salad. not an entire rubbermaid container of stroganoff. PS the only thing that is good for your disposal is ice. it sharpens the blades and doesn't clog up. NO EGGSHELLS OR POTATO SKINS. just FYI

Is That Even Possible ?

Is That Even Possible ?

yes it is, OP is an idiot though. the garbage disposal is for cleaning the little scraps off your plate, not for huge amounts of food!! Thats what your trash can is for.

That's not stroganoff...

Yesh this is possible lol happened to me once in the shower but it like came out of the wall it wuz weird i was like WTF?!?!?!?!?!? good to know that this has happened to someone else btw

Thats freakin hilarious!

never put meat in a garbage disposal. meat and eggshells are both big, big no-no's

and why is that? ive put meat in mine and nothing bad has happened. eggshells i havent tried yet, i should go do that. ;) haha

Meat is no but why eggshells?

I'm guessing leftover calcium in the eggs may corrode some metals and just make your sink really ugly looking.

Lol... YDI for not bagging it up and tossing it into the garbage bin. Quite a surprise though!

throw it away, or, better yet, eat your leftovers, assuming they arent old, which you didnt specify

um, garbage disposal isnt connected to plumbing that hooks to you shower, so its impossible for it to be stroganoff....its some other unwanted type of 'left overs'.

I hope it was spoiled if you threw it out. Wasting food is a bad habit- especially if it was animal product/meat.
