Today, I woke up screaming. Why? Well, I was complaining to my dad yesterday about how I always hit the snooze button and just roll over when my alarm goes off, and how that results in me being late for morning classes. My dad thought he'd help out by placing a mousetrap on the snooze button. FML

I don't get how ANYBODY can say "You Deserve It" on this one. Seriously, that's not funny. He could've tried moving the clock or even breaking the snooze button, not breaking OP's fingers.

Maybe if he just got up in the morning instead of hitting the snooze button then he wouldn't have had to deal with "broken" fingers. So yes, he deserves it for being a lazy bum and not going to bed on time so that he can actually wake up earlier. And from the experience I've had with mouse traps, they don't actually break fingers, they just hold a certain amount of pressure that cause your fingers to go blue and you to feel a pain. As #33 said, rat traps can, not really mouse traps. That is probably why the dad used the mouse trap, because he knew it probably wouldn't break his bones.

So what if it doesn't break you're fingers. It can cause small fractures and still hurts like hell. Plus, OP might have hours of homework each night (like me) and is required to stay up late. There are so many better ways than inflicting pain on your kid to get them up. Like, maybe setting 2 alarms? Or moving the alarm clock across the room?

He did help you out. But seriously most effective way is to place you alarm clock on the other end of the room. Yeah, it's cruel in the morning, but you never just hit it and sleep again. YDI for not coming up with some idea on yourself.

Your dad is awesome. I don't really see why everyone is saying that's cruel and horrible and shouldn't have happened. This is FML, and that was awesome.
