Today, I was working as a waitress at this pub. It was dead. After 4 hours I had only made 5$ in tips. A friendly couple came in and complimented EVERYTHING down to the freshness of the lemons in their tea. The bill came to $50. They left me a $5 gift card to starbucks. I don't drink coffee. FML

Today, I went into work to waitress on a table of 40 guests. They were my only table for the day and the bill came to over 700 dollars. After they left the busser was cleaning the table and threw out the credit card receipt which had my tip on it. FML

Today, at work, I served a group of three teens. Their tab was $75 and they tipped me nothing. They wrote a thank you on a piece of receipt paper, put it in a glass of water and used a coaster to turn the glass of water upside down on the table, spilling water everywhere. They also stole my pen. FML

Today, while I was working at Starbucks, a customer spilled her drink all over the counter. After I cleaned up her spill and remade the drink (for free), she exclaimed, "Thanks! I should really tip you!" Then she turned around, walked directly past the tip jar, and left the store. FML

Today, I was waitressing for a huge family. Their bill was $750. Excited about the tip, I was shocked to see only $0.50. As they were leaving, I threw the two whole quarters at their heads. Guess who also got fired today. FML

Today, I was the only carhop at work for the last 2 hours. In that time, I waited on about 50 cars. I make server pay so I depend on tips, but none of them tipped me even a penny. I averaged under $3 an hour tonight. FML

Today, while I was working as a waitress, I had to wait on a table of 13 people. I was struggling through it and when they finally left I went by the table to pick up my tip. Instead of a money I got a napkin saying "Here's your tip, don't be a waitress." FML

Today, a customer tried to pay for a $1.55 cup of coffee with a gift card, but he came up a dollar short. He let another customer through while he fumbled in his pocket for money. I later noticed a dollar had disappeared from my tip jar. FML

Starbucks sells pleanty of other things. The oatmeal is delicious. Stop being so ungrateful. And if you're gonna bitch about how you make minimum wage, that's you're fault. They probably got it, but don't support starbucks or something, so they left it for you. If I got a starbucks cards as a tip I'd be stoked, they just bought me coffee. They could have left you just a mess, but no, they left you something so shut the **** up.

At least they gave you something. When I worked as a barista, we had our tips stolen one time. And another time, a customer didn't have enough money to pay for their drink and took it out of our tip jar. -___- Maybe trade a co-worker who drinks coffee $5 for the gift card? At least, that's what I would do.

Oh, that sucks. I hope you get more tomorrow. Hopefully you live in Kentucky or Indiana.. *In Kentucky and Indiana, the employer is supposed to pay you the difference between what you make in tips and the minimum wage if your tips do not bring you up to that. It is very seldom that tips do not bring the wages of a server up to minimum wage when averaged over a period of a few days to a week, so employers assume that overall you are making minimum wage or more and do not make up the difference if you have a bad day every now and then.
