Seriously? People who are clumsy shouldn't drink coffee? When you trip and fall often enough you learn how to not get too hurt. If you realize the coffee will spill anyways, you should always turn or toss the cup so that it spills away from you. The only times I've ever spilled a hot beverage on myself were when I thought I could prevent it from spilling and failed. But generally, you can tell right away whether your coffee can be saved or not, and when it cant, might as well toss it away from yourself instead of on yourself. Also, falling down isn't unusual or odd. People fall down all the time.
