Today, I was on the tram, when an elderly couple got on. I stood up to give them room to sit together, but as I stood up, the tram set off and I went flying, knocking the elderly gentleman over. FML

ACTUALLY, it was technically her fault. however, she had good intentions. just one of those shitty days :p

Wow... Too much pressure to post first i see

Yeah, for sure, couldn't think of anything funny...

False. It was the lack of reverse momentum and unexpected acceleration and therefore the tram's fault.

21, ACTUALLY it wasn't her fault, it was the trams fault.

I totally agree with #1. Props to you for at least trying to do the right thing. So often these days our elderly are not treated with the respect they deserve.

Being cruel to the elderly will get you nowhere in life!

She wasn't being cruel. Which FML did you read?

Can you read? The person was clearly doing a good thing by giving them the seat. It's not their fault the tram took off.

#3 was being sarcastic, hence the "swoosh" of the joke going straight over your heads.

flockz 19

it was so far over their heads that i don't think they even heard the swoosh.

Sadly, that seems to be the case... We need louder swooshes these days.

You need to read FML more often #3. Asshats have been disguising themselves as old people more and more lately. It's becoming an epidemic really

I'm sure you managed to take the lady's breath away at least;)

He knocked into a man, not a lady.

Wow you just had a double fail #12. *She and #4 was mentioning the lady that was looking on, had nothing to do with her getting hit...

Except there's no mention of a lady looking on anywhere in the FML...

xStaciexLynnx 15

I can't see gender on my phone and I would think the 'taking someone's breath away' comment refers to literally knocking the wind out of someone (aka the man OP flew into) so that was not a fail because it was a man and not a woman.

shyeahh_fml 19

That's what happens when you're nice, OP.

Exactly. No good deed goes untackled.

here let me get that for you ... *BOOM* *tackled.*

This is one of the only times when the old person gets the shit end of the stick on an FML!

Today's not your day. That's why I don't leave my house.

And how's that working out for ya?

9, do your three friends happen to be a penny, a potato chip, and a used napkin?

or his right hand, the door lock, and some tissues

#9 is female, so maybe a door lock, some quiet, and a sawzall ***** would do the trick.

As long as you helped him up right away and apologized, I'm sure he would have recognized both the train movement and your sympathy. I just hope you didn't do a little dance after the heavy tackle...

Trolley, train, tram, light rail, etc. Just dependent on where you live.
