Today, I was at my lifeguarding exam. Everything was going well until I went to 'save' someone and slipped and bellyflopped into the pool. I broke my toe, and the person I was supposed to save ended up saving me instead. FML

Looks like you flopped on the exam. Hopefully you'll dive back into it and pass, but make sure you don't drown yourself in past errors.

Someone needs a new career choice...

I'm a former lifeguard instructor who used to teach those classes, so I can tell you from experience that you shouldn't worry about it. Sure it might have been embarrassing, but I taught classes where some of the trainees couldn't dive 12 feet down and couldn't do spinal injury saves properly without constant instruction. One minor slip? You'll be ok. I hope you recover quickly.

It happens. A girl I did recertification with swam into the side of the pool when she was carrying the brick on her chest and hit her head really hard. Speedy recovery!

I'm a lifeguard myself. I didn't fail, but I thought you're allowed to take it a second time.
