Today, I was at my girlfriend's house for dinner. Her mom gave me some seasoned cauliflower, which I didn't like. Not wanting to dissapoint my girlfriend's mom, I slipped the cauliflower of my plate and gave it to their dog. It turns out cauliflower gives their dog explosive diarrhea. FML

You're too young/immature for a girlfriend. YDI. If you're that desperate to please her mom, just choke down the food, and ask for drink refills to wash it down.

Just deny, deny, deny if they ask you about it. They can't pin it on you.

harden the **** up and eat your veggies!

Ugh... I'm laughing because people are saying "be a man and suck it up, and eat it". I'm saying "be a man and just be honest". It's not a crime not to like a certain food. Just say "I'm sorry, I don't care for cauliflower. Those potatos (or whatever else there might be) look really good though." It'd be another thing if she was just a bad cook, and everything was awful...then yeah, you might have to eat a bit to avoid some hurt feelings. That would be a lot more delicate situation. But just saying you don't like a particular food shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings. If you stick a plate with raw celery or tuna fish in front of me, I'm not going to eat it--I'll be making gagging noises the whole time if I try, which is even ruder! And I certainly don't want people feeding table food to my pets!

"I certainly don't want people feeding table food to my pets!" -- this is a really good point, it teaches the dog to beg at the table and a lot of families don't want that.

Don't be a pussy and eat the damn vegetable.

totally agree. if you tell someone you don't like a certain food up front, they won't serve it to you and thus you won't have to worry about leaving it on your plate, or feeding it to the dog. :)

You don't have to eat something you don't like. So you shouldn't have to "suck it up" and eat it. However, you should have just expressed that you don't like cauliflower. Anyone who would get honestly offended by your not liking a certain vegetable is crazy anyways. Never feed food to a pet that is not your own without permission! You never know how the food might interact with the pet's digestive system. I hate it when people do that to my dog =/
