Today, I had food poisoning and woke up early in the morning to vomit. My mom emailed all of my teachers saying that I would be late to school because of "morning sickness". Thanks mom. FML

Today, I wasn't feeling too well and consequently threw up. In an effort to get some sympathy, I told my mom about what happened. Rather than trying to make me feel better, she yelled at me because I threw up in the bathroom sink "when the damn toilet is two feet away." Thanks mom. FML

Today, my mom picked me up from school due to me being sick. Afterwards, she took a detour to the DMV, and I waited in the car. I ended up vomiting everywhere, clothes included, and had to sit in the car for three hours while the taste and smells lingered. FML

Today, despite having a stomach bug, I went into work, as my boss is overseas and had warned me not to take any sick leave until she returned. After 4 hours and vomiting twice, I left. She found out and sent me an email bitching me out for coming in sick. FML

was going to say your mom sounds awful. Then I realized that your mom probably doesn't realize that the term "morning sickness" is associated with pregnancy, and that since your sick in the morning she's just calling it what you have in the literal sense. Sorry OP, I really hope that the latter is it and that your mom isn't jumping to conclusions.

English could be the OP's mother's second language. Phrasing is a very subtle thing and she might have literally meant "sickness in the morning".

"Morning sickness" is a common phrase used to describe the nausea that pregnant women sometimes have in the morning. By saying that, OP's mom is implying that her daughter is pregnant.

Unless OP goes to a private school. Every year at my old (public) high school, we would gain at least one new student who was just kicked out of the local private school. Something about pregnant girls being bad for their image.
