Today, I got an e-mail from my University saying I may have violated the Student Code of Conduct for being drunk in public at a football game, and now I have to go in to defend myself against charges. My lungs filled with fluid at the game, causing me to throw up. I had to be taken away in an ambulance. FML

So go defend yourself and tell them what happened. If this is true, it won't be a problem. No problem, really. Just a bit of an unfortunate mix-up.

Where do you go to school that you can't be drunk at a football game?

There's no way 16 could have been serious about his spelling

If you present them with paperwork showing where you were, this should be over quickly.

I'm sure once you get a doctors note and show it to them you will be fine

Irritating yes, but you can look forward to the moment when you whip out the hospital documentation and embarrass the crap out of your accusers.

note from the doctor, no problem. hardly an fml really

If your lungs filled up with fluid, you'd be dead. You also would not throw up. Vomit comes from the stomach, not the lungs. I call drunken BS.

If the paramedics got there in time, she would have merely had trouble breathing or fallen into an unconscious state. Depending on the amount of fluid in her lungs at the time the problem was corrected, she could have been struggling to breathe while coughing out liquid. Fluid in the lungs often causes violent coughing in an attempt to expel the liquid. Liquid expelled in moderate to great amounts could be mistaken for vomiting. Also, some people have a delicate gag reflex that can be set off by violent fits of coughing, so she could have actually vomited. Please don't ever go into a medical career.

fluid in your lungs does not necessarily kill you. Also, she may not have actually thrown up, just coughed so much the fluid came up. I imagine that'd feel a bit like throwing up to a person.
