OP is being homophobic by using the fact that the best friend is also a guy as the kicker. He's basically implying that unwanted sexual advances are alright, as long as they're not homosexual.

No, he's not "implying" anything. He's saying that awaking to a guy kissing you is much weirder than a girl kissing you, as strange as both may be. (Provided you are a guy) If I awoke to a girl kissing me, I'd say, "Uh, what are you doing?" If I awoke to a guy kissing me, I would jerk up and speak in a loud voice, "What on earth are you doing, man?!" Contrary to popular belief, not every guy wants to have sex with another guy, or finds it "natural" in any way, accepting as one may be. Especially if you just presume that your friend is heterosexual. It's a good kicker.

Is anyone but me annoyed that the OP added "we're both guys"? Felt to me like he meant it to add and extra punch, as if it wouldn't be quite so f***ed up if if were a guy kissing a girl, or even a girl kissing a guy (or a girl kissing a girl, perhaps). It's *wrong* to give someone unwanted and/or nonconsensual sexual attention. Period. Full stop. All this debate over whether the kisser of the OP is gay or not is irrelevant. I'm sure he has lots of issues to be worked out, but really, the point is that crossing somebody's physical/sexual boundaries without their permission and participation is so, so wrong.
