Today, I finished my project two weeks early. Now I am being laid off because there is no work to do. FML

I wish road workers had that kind of motivation so they would get off their asses and fix up all the roads they tear apart.

Haha, you shouldn't have told them you finished. You should've pretended you were working on it, but instead played solitaire all day! x]

this is why the USA fails. we punish people for doing a great job. idiots.

Exactly what I was thinking. That is why our economy is failin. Because people in the USA think that everything is easy and you don't have to work hard to live comfortably in this country. But the founders of this country, the people that put the country together were hardworking relentless citizens. Now we have spoiled our people to the point that being inneficient in your job to make your job drag out and appear to be busy is acceptable. Working in manufacturing has shown me this sad reality which we are now facing. This doesn't happen in other countries where people actually care about the output of their company

I blame capitalism. Our economic system encourages us to find any underhanded way to make more money than the next guy. Sometimes the best way to make more money is to be honest and moral, but most of the time it's not. I'm gonna get flamed so hard :-P

But yeah fyl hard work will pay off eventually

Bull crap! That would NEVER happen. Wherever you work they would deffinetly find more work to do, there's never NO work to do.

Actually, you're wrong. The very tight credit markets have caused alot of work to dry up. From construction, to real estate, to corporate law, to the financial institutions, etc. - that's why unemployment is so high. Not enough work.

That really sucks. :[ I'm sorry. This just proves that effort and genuine hard work NEVER pay off. But on the bright side, you can probably get a better job with a more reputable company and make even more money and get a lot more appreciation. FYL and good luck!

You should try being lazier. Remember: hard work pays off later, but laziness pays off now. Or in your case, hard work doesn't pay off at all.

It's pennsylvaina you should know to savor any work you have being you might not have a job next week. FYL

that has happened to me too. it really sucks because i can't bring myself to goof off and not do my best...
