Today, I felt pretty. As I deal with a severe anxiety and depression, I was proud of myself. All until a little girl asked: "Are you a boy or a girl?" FML

Hey, OP here! c I just wanted to quickly clarify, I did not expect this to be published I was having a pretty bad day and out of needing to vent so I posted the most recent event. I am a cis female, not transgender. However I have polycystic ovarian disorder and I deal with hair growing in places such as my face which is why I believe the girl asked as I hadn't shaved that day... For me, the testosterone I have really effects my confidence so this did knock me back a little bit but thankfully I have very supportive friends and wonderful boyfriend who tell me not to worry so much. c: Thank you for all the positive feedback and comments, it really helps.

Hey, it's just a little kid. I'm sure you looked perfect today op!

#102 Shaving doesn't make your hair grow back thicker, it's just a myth.

You should of said both and walk away lol

Maybe she's a tiny female version of Prof. Oak, OP... don't loose your hopes, maybe you are set to be the best pokémon trainer there ever was!

Do you have short hair? Because I've learned from experience no matter how flawless you look, little kids always get confused by short hair. At least there was enough doubt for her to ask. I once outraged a small child for going into the women's room, despite actually being a woman.

I suffer from that as well.... Keep your head up and smile hun. You will make it!

One of the worst questions to crush your self-esteem!

You have to understand that the only way for kids to learn about things they don't know about is to ask questions. Don't take it as an insult. There is a time in each person's life when they are not entirely sure of someone's gender. You have many more years experience telling the difference than this little kid. You, on the other hand, should focus more on the world around you and the many wonders it holds, and a little less on the things about yourself that many types of media say is wrong with you because they want you to buy their beauty products. You are who you are. Just be the best 'you' you can be and be proud.

Be proud! She's obviously a Pokemon Professor in the works!

I'm pretty sure you're cute as hell. that shit happens but fo real. :3
