Wow, may I just say that the majority of you people have no idea what you're talking about? Going in and attacking a country is not defending the USA. 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq; it was a terrorist group that, yes, is located in the Middle East, but no, does not have anything to do with Iraq. Iraq definitely had many issues, but it had nothing to do with us, and the American government did not help. At all. Yes, this person's mother should not have said that in an airport, because it's always best to not offend people, and because airport officials are generally asses and would get someone in trouble for saying that, but honestly, I agree with her.
