wow, she sounds like a real winner in life
Id love a follow up on this! To see what type if business this is??
Maybe thats why she needed her step grandpa to get her a job. I think you should do what's best for your business, OP. Family is important but so is your livelihood.
Lol don't hire her bro xD
Reason number 346678277382 why you never hire any family. It always causes problems and you have to still be around them. And for some strange reason its always the person hiring/firing that gets blamed for things going south. Good luck OP.
clear sign to stay away from such employees, let your other workers be proud of their boss bc he wasn't partial towards his family
I can imagine her being really lazy because she will think she won't have to do anything because you're family. It's not a good idea to mix family and friends with business because then things can go sour.
This is why you don't hire family...
Comments like this just piss me off. There are plenty of instances where family work together just fine and sometimes better. Just make sure you have competent siblings plain and simple.
Assuming you're not forced to hire someone JUST because they're family.
Good workers are good workers, family or not, but honestly? Family members are just more likely to slack than hiring a stranger, on the assumption that you'd cut them a break just because they're family.
you probably shouldn't hire her. but if you're worried about backlash for not hiring her, then do it and bust her ass until she either steps up or quits. let her know there won't be any screwing around.

Pay her in Monopoly money. If she doesn't do any "real" work," she won't get any "real money."
Just tell her that she doesn't have to work, "You just, like, won't get real paychecks."
