Thanks
Today, after months of random vomiting with no apparent cause, I finally got some tests done. The doctor says there's nothing wrong with me and that it's all just in my head. Great. FML

Today, I hit the six-year mark for daily vomiting. All the doctor can say is that it's psychological. FML
Today, my doctor informed me that the tests we've been doing the previous months show no sign of leukemia. I was just about to express my relief when he casually followed up with, "Never mind, there's still a lot of other blood-related diseases we need to look out for." FML
Today, I saw my doc about the painful swelling I've had in my arm all week. He seemed totally out of it, and ended up telling me it's all in my head, despite the swelling. When I respectfully suggested it might be a blood issue, he just said, "Nah". FML
Today, my doctor called with my test results, which seem to tell him that there's absolutely nothing wrong with me. I'm still sitting here with an appendage that I'd swear was dispensing napalm, but now I have a $500 bill to go with it. FML
Today, I went to the doctor with some serious physical symptoms that amount to being effectively disabled. She didn’t even ask any questions or examine me before telling me it was all purely psychological. I barely managed to convince her to at least order some blood tests, as a formality. FML
Today, after decades of 24/7 cognitive impairment and being made to feel like a hypochondriac by many doctors over the years, I learned I have a severe physical illness. I kept researching and discovered my own illness, found out which test to ask for, and finally showed doctors proof. FML
Today, I had an endoscopy and nothing wrong was found. So why have I been vomiting up everything, including water, for the past 10 days? FML
Today, I was at the doctors office after throwing up for the past week. My diagnosis? Apparently I'm the first pregnant man. After several minutes of me freaking out and him explaining how it was possible, he told me he was joking and that I'm fine, but my reaction was the best thus far. FML
Today, I went to see a doctor because I have been feeling of pressure in my chest. After running numerous tests, I was told I was perfectly healthy and had nothing to worry about. I made it as far as the front door before I collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital. FML
Today, I felt a very sharp pain, like my appendix was going to burst. After going to the doctor, I was rushed to the hospital to get tests done. The doctors later told me there's nothing wrong, I was just constipated. I went to the hospital for them to basically tell me I'm full of shit. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

You should have vomited in his office and then asked if that was in your head too.

I was doing that for awhile, later I came to realize that it was because I was stressed about something that I kept denying.

"you're fine. take some painkillers" master that phrase and you're pretty much a qualified doctor.

I vomited regularly for years with no explanation. GERD was the closest they could get to a diagnosis. Had my gallbladder removed, which helped for a while, but then it came back worse than ever. Finally had a Nissen wrap done (they wrap your stomach around itself and sew it up); that worked and it's been seven years. Might be worth looking into.

That happened to my dad. His shoulders had giant bruises on them out of nowhere and wasn't able to move them. The doctor said "You just want drugs." He went to another doctor. He had two dislocated shoulders.

Created an account just to comment on this: This used to happen to me. It always seemed random, and for awhile I was really worried. I started keeping track of when it happened, and what I ate, and the only constant(other than the puking) was that the next day I'd get my period. Like clockwork. I'd spend all night throwing up, the next morning I'd have my period. I never occurred to me that they might be related until I started keeping track. So if you are a lady, that might be the reason why. Otherwise, just keep a journal of when it happens, and what you ate that day, and see if anything matches up.
