Today, I discovered that I'm allergic to the flowering plant my passive-aggressive mother gave me for Christmas. I take two different antihistamines daily for my numerous allergies all year round, and my mother knows this is why I don't have house plants. She said, "You better not get rid of it!" I think she hates me. FML

Put the plant on your porch or somewhere outside. That way you are ‘keeping it’ but it shouldn’t bug you.

Get a plastic replica of the one she gave you and throw the real one out. If she detects the fraud, gaslight her by telling her that it's what she gave you.

Tell your mom you are getting rid of it. If she nags you tell her tough shit. If that doesn't work make a film of you tossing it out, pan the camera back to you and flip it the bird. Then send that to her.
