Surely that's enough

Today, I was proud of myself for taking a break from my sedentary lifestyle to go to the gym 3 times a week (and have been doing so for awhile) and do cardio for 30 minutes on an exercise bike. It turns out that's less than the 5 times a day you're supposed to get 30 minutes of exercise. I'm off by 2 times a day. FML

Do NOT beat yourself up for getting off to a great start!! Three times a week is a lot better than zero times a week!

Your diary is written confusingly. You say you go 3 times a week, then say that's 2 times a day less than the 5 times a day you are supposed to get. Are you aiming for 3 times a week or 35 times? Pretty big difference. 3 sessions of cardio should be enough to maintain a baseline. 5 times a day is ridiculous unless you intend to be an athlete or a model or something.
