Rent hike to be expected

Today, my 63-year-old neighbor jumped out of his window. I was the first to find him, alive, naked and stuck in a bush. I guess I shouldn't have laughed at him while waiting for the ambulance, because he turned out to be my landlord. FML

He was the landlord, its implied that either the rent went up or the OP got kicked out of his/her home/apartment

Why did he jump out the window? If he was trying to commit suicide thats awful for laughing! I'm not sure why else you would jump out a window LOL! Unless you were insane...? But I probably would have laughed too, I laugh when I'm nervous though.
